About
This Continuing Education (CE) home study course addresses rising provider burnout and client dropout by introducing The Odyssey Approach®—a dynamic, evidence-based, and culturally informed care model. Blending cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and humanistic theories with visualizations and narrative techniques, it emphasizes human connection and draws from Pasifika, African, and Native American practices. The course bridges Western and culturally responsive models, enhancing rapport and meaning in care. Participants will explore the approach’s foundations and experience key components. By the conclusion of this CE, participants will able to: 1) Explain how The Odyssey Approach helps prevent provider burnout and reduce client dropout rates by fostering deeper client engagement and enhancing care delivery; 2) Utilize storytelling techniques to enhance client engagement, increase self-esteem, and facilitate behavior analysis through self-reflection; 3) Identify the integrative theoretical foundations behind The Odyssey Approach, and the evidence-based techniques that validate the effectiveness of each component; 4) Implement direct interventions from The Odyssey Approach including narrative reflection, story-retelling, and integrating provider referrals appropriately for continuity of care.
